Privileges of the Priesthood available to women

A wonderful article from a faithful online LDS Journal:

'The Ministering of Angels' is for the Beehives Too

I get a thrill to fine tune my gospel language to become more scripturally consistent. It unlocks more power in our language and therefore a more powerful witness accompanies our words.

In this article, it speaks of the often taught idea about those who hold the priesthood are those who have access to the privileges of the priesthood. The idea singled out in this journal article is the privilege of the Aaronic Priesthood to have the ministering of angels. The way it is often taught is exclusionary to the young women and it suggests that young men can access it and the young women can't. Since we live in a continuing restoration we have learned in somewhat recent years that receiving the privileges of the priesthood are the result of faithfully living and receiving priesthood ordinances. It has NOTHING to do with the office one holds in the priesthood. The keys that individuals hold allow them to authoritatively perform the ordinances so that the individuals who receive the ordinances are then authorized to receive the privileges of the priesthood. This quote by Elder Oaks presents the idea well:

"“How does the Aaronic Priesthood hold the key to the ministering of angels?... Through the Aaronic Priesthood ordinances of baptism and the sacrament, we are cleansed of our sins and promised that if we keep our covenants we will always have His Spirit to be with us. I believe that promise not only refers to the Holy Ghost but also to the ministering of angels, for “angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ” (2 Ne. 32:3)… the Aaronic Priesthood open[s] the door for all Church members… to enjoy the companionship of the Spirit of the Lord and the ministering of angels (emphasis added).” (October 1998 General Conference address, “The Aaronic Priesthood and the Sacrament")

This can clear up much of are scripturally inconsistent language in the Church.
